Remembrance Sunday
Sadly this years Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph will not have any Association representatives present. The Royal British Legion have made the decision due to Covid-19 restrictions. Like me, I know many of you will be disappointed by this but given the current state of Covid-19 it was the only decision that could be made. I know you all will remember those of all conflicts who have given their lives by taking part in the 2 minutes silence. I will be attending the Wroughton Remembrance event which is by invitation only to lay a wreath on behalf of St John Ambulance, I am trying to get hold of a PMRAFNS Association wreath as well so at least an Association representative can lay our wreath on your behalf. Wroughton seems a appropriate setting to do this.

Update on events
Sadly this year we have had to cancel the AGM and Dinner and the Summer event. We are still waiting for confirmation regarding the Cenotaph as soon as we know what is happening we will let you all know.
Hopefully we can look forward to 2021 and meeting up for the AGM and Dinner at Glenart Castle date to be confirmed.

Dear PMRAFNS Association Members
The Special Projects Team would usually be sending out Application Forms for the Cenotaph Ceremony (Parade) and Luncheon in the next few weeks. However, this year due to COVID-19 we do not know currently whether the Cenotaph Ceremony will go ahead, or if it does go ahead what it will look like with regards to reduced numbers, representatives etc. We will publish the latest information that we receive from the Royal British Legion (RBL) on the PMRAFNS Association website and our Facebook Page, as soon as we receive it. With this in mind we have received the following update from the RBL:
‘At this time of year, it would be usual for the Legion to initiate proceedings in support of The Cenotaph Dispersal (Parade), the military veterans’ component of the traditional Remembrance Sunday ceremony on Whitehall. This year is the centenary of the unveiling of the iconic Whitehall war memorial, designed and built by Edwin Lutyens, and the Legion is working closely with all of the relevant Her Majesty’s Government (HMG) agencies to ensure that this year’s event can go ahead in some form.
We are mindful that mass events are not permitted under current restrictions, a range of representative options are under consideration by HMG; the Legion will provide the relevant details as soon as we are able. Similar restrictions will also apply to community based remembrance events.’
